You’ll have an impact on bringing digital-first banking to our customers by defining the future state architecture vision and strategies for our Global Businesses and Global Functions.
You’ll be developing business, data, software, and integration architecture standards to manage processes, systems, and technology complexity across the HSBC Group. Through dynamic, agile collaboration you’ll work closely with business partners to translate their requirements into integrated solutions that can be deployed globally using consistent service patterns for ease of deployment, support, and enhancement.
Your role is to provide strategic guidance and define the best data architecture approaches for the team. You will support a team of Data Architects and collaborate closely with stakeholders, including product owners, solution architects, and data engineers. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping and implementing data architecture strategies, ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal performance.

In this role you will:

  • Support a team of Data Architects in designing and implementing data architecture solutions that align with business objectives, technology strategy, and industry best practices.
  • Help define and communicate the strategic vision for data architecture, considering data governance, data integration, data modelling, and data management. Ensure that the design approaches align with this vision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, translate them into actionable data architecture designs, and influence the development of data solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by establishing data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and data protection measures.
  • Drive the adoption of data best practices, data standards, and data management processes across the team.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with emerging data technologies, trends, and industry developments. Evaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies to enhance data architecture capabilities

  • Possess strong leadership skills, enabling you to support and inspire a team of Data Architects. You can effectively communicate the strategic vision and guide the team towards achieving data architecture excellence.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture principles, data modelling, data integration, and data management. You can design scalable and efficient data solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Your communication skills are strong, allowing you to effectively convey complex data architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You can influence and align stakeholders towards the defined data architecture strategies.
  • You demonstrate strong consulting skills, leveraging your expertise to provide valuable insights and guidance to cross-functional teams. You can identify opportunities for improvement and drive data architecture excellence.
  • Managing relationships and stakeholders at various levels, establishing trust and collaboration to drive successful outcomes. You can effectively navigate and influence within a complex organisational structure.
