Required Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Data Management team is seeking a Lead Data Management Analyst. This lead level individual contributor role will report into WIM Data & Analytics Strategic Enablement leader. In this role you will be responsible for driving the buildout and maintenance of the WIM Data Catalog and ensuring strong metadata quality, integrity, and linkage across all metadata in the metamodel. This role will also drive the buildout of a semantic layer/data-fabric for data analytics and AIML on top of a data-mesh and data-product architecture. You will work closely with data-product owners and domain experts and use case owners to ensure high quality metadata is captured and maintained and easy to discover. For data products design the lead will work with business stakeholders, business product owners and domain experts to define and drive data product domain boundaries, data model conceptual & logical design, design and document the harmonization rules to conform sources to a canonical target, test and validate all data model assumptions, design data quality rules, document all metadata and ensure the data catalog is populated and kept up to date. For use cases the lead will elicit business requirements, analyze, and translate to the corresponding data requirements, and map to and evolve the associated data-products. The role contributes to driving value to the business by identifying data products that are fit for purpose. Maturing and simplifying the data environment and helps maintain compliance with data management policies and procedures.

In this role, you will:

  • Function in a hybrid agile environment partnering with business and technology teams across WIM agile products
  • Drive the design, build, maintenance, and use of the wealth management data catalog through metadata contributions and enrichment
  • Drive the design of a wealth management self-service semantic layer
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data requirements for data catalog and strategic data products that align with business goals
  • Be very hands on with SQL to profile data and analyze and join disparate datasets from disparate sources and technology stacks
  • Partner closely with technology and business leaders to understand the data product consumption needs and define the interfaces and the semantic layers to meet these needs
  • Provoke conversations and drive clarity in use case business data requirements
  • Develop strategies to simplify date environments and data flows. Strategies may include data mesh, data products, data fabric/semantic layer
  • Lead and drive forums with stakeholders as all levels
  • Develop current state understanding of data asset landscape through application and data research and partner interactions
  • Provide leadership to influence the data product and data fabric roadmaps
  • Create communication routines with stakeholders, business partners, and management
