JOB DESCRIPTION

Aqovia seeks an experienced and driven Mid-Level Project Manager to spearhead the site selection and development of new data centres across Wales, Scotland, and Western Europe. This role requires a deep understanding of the data centre lifecycle, from site identification and due diligence through to construction and handover.

Responsibilities:

  • Site Selection: Oversee the identification and assessment of prospective data centre locations, performing comprehensive due diligence that includes:
  • Energy: Secure access to reliable and sustainable power sources, including renewable energy options (onsite/offsite) and grid connectivity.
  • Fibre Networks: Evaluate existing fibre infrastructure and connectivity options to ensure high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Navigate local planning permissions, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.
  • Project Management: Oversee all project phases, from initial feasibility studies and budgeting to design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with senior executives, cross-functional teams, OEMs, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers for equipment, services, and construction.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Budget and Schedule Control: Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
