EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Hybrid Assignment- As a result of current OPS direction, the successful candidate will be required to work on site in person at the work location listed in the RQ for a minimum of 2-3 days per week at discretion of HM. Successful candidate must reside in Ontario.
Data Conversion Specialist
Will work as part of a core project team comprised of Children, Youth and Social Service Cluster, and Child Parent Resource Institute to achieve the deliverables of the Electronic Medical Record Project.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Data Conversion Specialist Will be expected to hit the ground running and will use their expertise and attention to detail to help the project achieve a robust and
comprehensive data migration approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing the data migration strategy including project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
  • Work with the Ministry and vendor team(s) to develop core data migration deliverables and requirements, data mapping and transformation rules
  • Design and implement a data migration audit process to ensure data integrity and ability to mitigate/remediate data quality issues
  • Manage the data migration deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and traceability to requirements
  • Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts, including escalation as part of the data migration plan
  • Support the Ministry and vendor test teams with the creation of test data
  • Ensure test data conforms to data security requirements
  • Perform data migration audit, reconciliation, and exception reporting for static and transactional data
  • Ensure privacy and security access controls are followed for sensitive personal data in accordance with

OPS standards and guidelines

  • Ensure security in reporting and data warehousing
  • Provide guidance to the project team and transferring knowledge and skills to these team members

Responsibilities:
Oversees all facilities of the conversion process.
Completes mapping, interfaces, mock conversion work, enhancements, actual conversion, and verifies completeness and accuracy of converted data.
Establish a strong working relationship with all clients, interact effectively with all levels of client personnel, and provide conversion support.
Analyzes and coordinates data file conversions.
Works with importing files from heterogeneous platforms.
General Skills:
Full life-cycle data conversion experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, including deployment experience
Proficiency in query languages
Familiarity with and construction of complex query statements
Knowledge of various database structures
Data analysis, investigative and logic skills
Experience with data conversion scripts and tools
Experience with overseeing /completing all tasks involved in the conversion process including data extraction, cleansing, transformation and loading
Experience liaising with teams to understand to-be migration requirements.
Establish a strong working relationship with all groups, interact effectively with all levels of client personnel, and provide conversion support.
Experience completing mapping, interfaces, conversion work, documentation and verifying completeness and accuracy of converted data.
Experience delivering the required system changes and/or working with the development team or a dedicated conversion team to specify loads programs.
Experience providing support through the cutover process
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities and client relationship management experience
Communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and problem-solving skills
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge and experience in business case development
Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
Excellent understanding of master data and transactional data concepts and interdependencies
