Title: Data Coordinator-Children Trust Michigan
$27.67-$40.44/hour; posted thru 8/23/24
Location: Hybrid- must live in Michigan
Purpose: This position functions as the recognized data resource for Children Trust Michigan, and is responsible for leading efforts focused on collecting, analyzing, and sharing programmatic and administrative data, as well as supporting Children Trust Michigan’s statewide network of prevention partners with their data and evaluation needs.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Relevant Bachelor’s degree in a social service or analytical field (preferred) such as Social Work, Psychology, Computer Science, Business Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Statistics.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the non-profit or social services field.
  • Experience with child abuse prevention programs and services s and knowledge of the child welfare system.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to present strong data-driven storylines and content to both internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate must have the communication skills necessary to offer advice, guidance, and direction to a variety of stakeholders all while exercising no direct authority over the actions of those stakeholders.
  • Comfort with excel, relationship databases, and/or statistical tools (R, SPSS, Stata, etc.)
  • Ability to research and analyze both quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Demonstrated ability to create detailed and accurate reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, provide direct support as needed, and complete tasks without immediate supervision.
  • Cultural humility and an openness to and respect for others’ cultures, identities, and lived experiences
  • Ability to pay attention to detail when working with data in order to make accurate conclusions and predictions.
  • Strong data management abilities, with a passion for using data to improve processes

  • Solid understanding of data sources, data organization and storage.
  • Knowledge of available child welfare and behavioral health data sources.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Standard office environment. Will require valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position (e.g. off-site meetings and site visits).

Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work cooperatively with CTM’s Executive Director, Program Manager, Program Coordinator, program stakeholders and others who are directly impacted by and interested in the achievement of quality service delivery and outcomes.
  • Responsible for working with complex components of the child abuse prevention programming in all areas of program development directed toward improving the quality and availability of child abuse and neglect prevention programming in the state.
  • Document and follow data collection, management, and analytic protocols.
  • Conduct analyses and develop dissemination materials under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Provide expertise on the innovative use of current data systems to program goals and objectives.
  • Provide analytic support for program goals, including disseminating weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports.
  • Create executive reports and presentations for CTM Executive Director and Board of Directors as requested.
  • Conduct data quality improvement with data submitters including direct assistance, development of electronic resources and online content.
  • Maintain datasets needed to support internal and external reporting including online dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Provide and implement suggestions for data summaries and visualizations.
  • Attend conference calls with vendors, coalitions, state partners and others, as needed.
  • Act as an additional resource for web development, and website editing requiring HTML.
  • Hold system administrator rights to all CTM software systems; learning the software to provide IT support to staff.
  • Participate in monthly IT Meetings
  • Represent CTM at Department software security reviews (SSP) and procurement meetings; creating or sourcing documentation from vendors to complete those processes.
  • Pull complex reports from database (Neon) for staff as requested.
