DATA ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS
Must hold current and transferable SC Clearance.
- Extensive experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong track record in designing, developing, and maintaining data architectures and pipelines.
- Expertise in SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL and CockroachDB, with the ability to write efficient database queries and improve performance through advanced SQL techniques.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases, with the ability to evaluate their advantages and disadvantages.
- Background in working with databases in secure environments, such as defence or financial sectors, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and data security standards.
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts and encouraging collaboration to achieve data-related goals.

DATA ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the team and play a key role in transforming our data architecture and pipelines.
As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain robust data solutions that enable us to effectively collect, process, and analyse large volumes of data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure integrity, accessibility and scalability of our data infrastructure. Your expertise will be essential in driving data-driven decision-making and supporting innovative projects across our clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will primarily focus on SQL Databases, with a strong emphasis on PostgreSQL and CockroachDB, while also providing insights into NoSQL solutions to evaluate their pros and cons.
- Utilising core SQL knowledge to write efficient database queries, with a focus on improving performance and covering existing knowledge gaps in SQL querying techniques.
- Engage in deployment and support of databases, ensuring best practices in configuration and maintenance are followed to enhance overall database performance and reliability.
- Leverage experience with databases in containerised environments to share insights on deployment and operational nuances, enhancing team understanding of containerised database solutions.
- Bring experience working with databases in secured environments (such as defense or financial sectors) to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data security and assurance.
