WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Join our Data Engineering team on our journey of data and digital transformation! Help us implement our Data Strategy, pivoting from a traditional on-premise landscape to a modern cloud-based data platform, to drive and underpin Bank Digital and Customer Strategies
As a Data Engineer, you will work in agile delivery teams engineering high quality solutions for both our Enterprise Data Lake and Enterprise Data Warehouse platforms. We will give you career defining experience in solving real world complex data challenges in a fast paced environment.
We work in a very collaborative environment with a learning culture and you will gain experience across both platforms building automated and integrated data pipelines.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

You are a Data Engineer with 2+ years’ experience and a high capacity to learn and develop your data engineering skills. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and a growth mentality who prioritises collaboration with others. You take a proactive approach to improving processes and tooling to help achieve the necessary outcomes and deliver value to our customers.

Further technical knowledge and/or experience in the below are necessary to apply:

  • Experience in SQL and Python
  • Experience with development of Enterprise Data Warehouse platforms - Teradata preferable
  • Some knowledge of Data Engineering patterns and concepts such as ETL and ELT.
  • Experience with development of Data solutions in the cloud
  • Knowledge of Data pipelines including tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Ansible.
  • Some experience in Agile delivery methodologies.

Desirable:

  • An understanding of Streaming Data Pipelines with tools like Kafka, NiFi, Flink, Spark Streaming.
  • Knowledge of processing large datasets and unstructured data using HBase, Hive, Impala, Spark.
  • Familiar with Workflow orchestration tools e.g. Oozie, Airflow, Ctrl-M.
  • Experience with modern IDE tooling e.g. Pycharm, VSCode and Github Copilot
  • Other Cloud data platforms like Cloudera, Databricks, Redshift, Snowflake
  • Familiar with AI concepts and willingness to explore LLM’s, Generative AI and Machine Learning
  • Familiar with Analytics and Reporting tooling (Observability, Looker, Tableau, Qlikview).

  • Work with other like-minded individuals in an agile delivery team where you will learn and develop strong collaboration skills and deliver Business based goals.
  • Build complex data flows and process’s using our Enterprise Data Warehouse & Data Lake
  • Learn from more senior engineers on best practices and apply modern engineering frameworks, tooling and patterns.
