In accordance with Article 9.05, where the previous incumbent returns to this position within the thirty (30) day trial period this position shall be deemed not vacant and the posting will be cancelled. Should the vacancy be cancelled, applicants to this posting shall be notified.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent combination of education and hospital systems experience.
  • 2 years data management experience.
  • 2 year of experience working with clinical data.
  • 2 year Health Care experience.
  • Proficient in a modern programming language and comfortable working in the Windows and Linux command line.
  • Experience and familiarity with HIS systems (CERNER, PACS etc), clinical data exchange formats, and data pipeline/DAG frameworks (Apache Airflow, Prefect, Databricks etc)
  • Proficient with at least one established and/or emerging SQL and NoSQL solution.
  • Familiarity with Python/R data science ML stack (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit Learn, Tidyverse etc)
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly.
  • Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search required.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and monitor pipelines for extracting, loading, transforming, and validating clinical and administrative data to populate a corporate data lake house
  • Design, implement, and advise on efficient data storage, partition, serving, and visualization strategies—including the use of high-performance (zero-copy) in-memory columnar data formats and distributed computing/file systems where appropriate
  • Design, implement, and advise on data security and handling policies including processes for securing data at rest and during transit and implementing data auditing, masking, de-identification, anonymization, and retention/purging strategies where appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize data extraction and integration pipelines for analytical workloads currently in production and assist with the migration of these assets during handover to CERNER, Novari, and Ocean HIS systems. Emphasis on building solutions that maximize data quality/completeness while minimizing impact on services required for safe, effective, and timely delivery of care.
  • Collaborate and advise on adoption and deployment of new on-premises or cloud-based data integration and storage platforms suitable for use in a healthcare (PHI containing) analytics environment.
