We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Engineer with a focus on Generative AI to join our team at TRUMPF. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing initiatives and projects related to cloud architecture in the field of (Gen)AI. You will establish standardized processes and methods, develop cloud security concepts, and work closely with various teams to deliver AI solutions.This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI at TRUMPF and make a significant impact on our technological landscape.

Your tasks

  • Identification, conceptualization, implementation and evaluation of AI solutions in the Azure environment
  • Create standardized processes, methods, and sustainable architecture for AI within the company
  • Provide advice on technologies and processes in various chapters and boards (e.g. data protection and information security)
  • Work with developers, data scientists, and business analysts to design, develop, and implement web applications and APIs in the area of generative AI, from chatbots to fine-tuned language models
  • Monitor AI industry trends and maintain state-of-the-art industry knowledge
  • Implement best practices for AI testing, deployment, and maintenance (MLOps)
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand and fulfill the AI needs of the organization
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed AI solutions

What we are looking for

  • University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics or a related field
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: large language models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA), AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), or data management Azure tools (e.g., AzureML, Databricks)
  • Proficiency in managing cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code solutions (Terraform)
  • Experience as a developer creating applications on Kubernetes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively; strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
