Description:

Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Fluent English is must
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, SQL scripting, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles, preferably with experience in Azure
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex data platform projects in a global enterprise setting
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry or similar highly regulated environment is a plus
  • Snowflake certification(s) is a strong plus

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for executing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Extrusion Data Cloud (EDC). This role requires strong technical expertise in Snowflake, Azure Data Factory (ADF) and has Phyton knowledge. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of data engineering principles, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute the design, development, and deployment of the EDC, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the Snowflake platform
  • Provide technical support to the data platform team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Drive best practices in data engineering, including data modeling, ETL processes, data integration, and data governance
  • Oversee the management and optimization of Snowflake resources, including warehouses, databases, and pipelines
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Snowflake, staying abreast of latest features, tools, and techniques to enhance the data platform
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures related to the EDC
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve technical challenges, and ensure timely delivery of solutions
  • Thrive in a high-pressure environment, effectively managing priorities and deadlines to meet business objectives
