We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Data Engineer passionate about building a world-class platform through a world-class team. You will be a hands-on technical lead, responsible for designing a large Data Lake, and designing, building, and managing data flows that integrate managing data flows that integrate information from various sources into a common pool via data pipelines and ETL models

What You’ll Do:

• Lead our data lake strategy and implementation efforts, focusing on scalability, quality, and performance
• Serve as our in-house expert on data lake, data warehousing, data transforms, data flow, and data integration strategies; coach, educate, and mentor other engineers and business leaders
• Design and help implement efficient, scalable processes to acquire, manipulate, and project domain-level data within our platform
• Actively participate in our Agile engineering processes
• Contribute to the codebase directly by taking on development, modeling, and scripting tasks as necessary
• Ensure all work aligns with quality, operational, and architectural standards, contributing to the overarching success of our organization

Who You Are:

• A technologist with demonstrable experience guiding data strategy and executing, including the design and construction of a data lake
• You love to learn new technology, and have a solid base of existing experience with data lake and data warehouse platforms and technologies (such as: AWS Kinesis, Kafka, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, etc.)
• You are a troubleshooter at heart; you can identify and solve for data-related performance and quality issues in high pressure situations
• You can work as part of an international team
• You thrive on creating innovative solutions
• You love tackling challenges with creative ideas
• You write stellar code that wows and performs

Essential Knowledge / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience, with at least 5 years of experience designing and implementing databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• An expert ETL / data movement approaches and tooling
• Proven ability to influence and mentor others within an agile team environment
• 2+ years of application development experience (which might include: C#, various scripting languages, Java, etc.)
• Highly proficient in Microsoft SQL Server database development
• Highly accomplished with query construction and optimization
• Experience in the financial industry is a plus
