YOU WILL BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in developing building scalable, high performance applications.
• An obsession with automating and simplifying processes.
• Ability to communicate technical problems and processes to a variety of audiences including non-technical folks.
• Knowledge of data-collecting hardware is a bonus.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Data Engineer and first software developer, you will be responsible for building our data collection and processing systems. You will lead the conceptualization, design and implementation of data layers across the organization, ensuring the system is scalable and able to grow with the business.
Your first project for this role will be the automation of our Quality Assurance (Food Safety) checks and systems. This will require getting hands-on (literally!) with our Food Safety and Production teams to understand how the production line works, the required data collection points, and building a system that works with our process.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead the design and build of a robust data platform to support a variety of data types and sources from across the organization.
• Work with Mechanical Engineers to understand sensor / hardware capabilities and needs for data tracking, and if desired, implement those sensors.
• Build dashboards for monitoring company KPI’s and metrics from our production process.
• Develop analytics around product cost over time.
• Implement data security policies and measures to ensure data privacy and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with teams from across the business to understand their needs and create appropriate automations and data solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate third party tools to augment our system.
