Description:

JOB SUMMARY

We are recruiting a Data Engineer to join our Data and Insights Team.
Data Engineers develop and maintain a wide variety of data tools for Ofsted staff and for external publication. You will work in an environment using Microsoft SQL Server, Excel, Python, and Power Platform technologies (Power BI; Power Automate). You will understand the data, work with and the business rules that must be applied. The postholder will listen carefully to check their understanding of user need and apply that knowledge to product development.
The postholder will work within a small agile development team and support their colleagues to ensure that the team as a whole can deliver high quality, effective products to competing timescales. You will contribute to regular reviews of working practices, constructively contribute improvements, and develop and maintain a network of contacts and constructive working relationships.
This is a fantastic opportunity to further your experience in Ofsted’s well-established team. The post holder will work with high-achieving professionals at all levels, surrounded by a friendly and supportive team. They will have access to amazing benefits, such as flexible working hours, the Civil Service Pension Scheme, and 32.5 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays. We offer a hybrid working model, so you may also choose to spend a proportion of time working from home.
