Data Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join the Treebula team and help shape the future of Sweden’s leading digital marketplace for forest owners. At Treebula, we use innovative digital solutions to maximize the potential of forests, empowering forest owners to manage their land, optimize timber sales, and explore new opportunities like biodiversity- and carbon credits.
As part of our team, you’ll play a crucial role in building our data infrastructure from the ground up. You will design and implement a new data warehouse, migrate existing data from sources like Google Sheets into structured storage, and ensure data accessibility through optimized queries. Your work will enable us to become more data-driven and to harness data insights that support our mission towards a sustainable and carbon-neutral future.

• Design, build, and maintain a new data warehouse to centralize and structure our data.
• Extract data from existing sources like Google Sheets, transform it, and load it into the new database.
• Set up and optimize data pipelines using AWS services to ensure seamless data flow.
• Collaborate with software engineers to define and capture key system events, including API usage, system logs, and database changes.
• Implement and maintain tools for monitoring and processing backend data streams, such as log analysis and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and integrate data into our Django and JavaScript-based platform.
• Write efficient SQL queries to enable data retrieval and support analytics.
• Develop tools and frameworks to facilitate data analysis and visualization.
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Support data-driven decision-making by providing clean, well-organized datasets.
