Description:

The Civic HealthTech Innovation Zone (CHI-Zone) is being established to accelerate the growth of the health and life science sector, upskill residents and create jobs for the Liverpool City Region. As Data Engineer, you will design, develop and test data-driven solutions to pressing problems posed by commissioners and providers or health and care services.
You will be a key member of the Civic Health Innovation Labs HealthTech Design Studio and report to CHIL’s Technical Director, Gary Leeming, and work closely with the Director of HealthTech and Innovation Growth, Dr Annemarie Naylor. You will also engage with university colleagues from the Virtual Engineering Centre and with a wide range of health and care service commissioners, providers and industry stakeholders.
Your primary duties will involve contributing to the co-design of data infrastructure for delivering digital health and care innovation projects and developing/maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines and workflows to process health and care data from diverse sources. You will work across a varied portfolio of projects as needed; in the first instance, this will include working with less digitally mature organisations to develop a social care testbed.
You should have a degree in a relevant subject or relevant professional experience.
The post is available from 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2028.
Although the university has a hybrid working system, we expect that the applicant appointed to this role will work more than 60% on campus.
