We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Analytics team. This role is crucial in advancing our market-leading sports intelligence platform, helping professional teams across various sports leverage sophisticated data pipelines and automated processing to compete at the highest levels. REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience in back-end software design and development, with a strong focus on data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with ETL architecture and development in cloud-based environments.
- Fluency in SQL development and a deep understanding of database and data warehousing technologies.
- Proficiency in Python (preferred) and/or R, with experience in Scala or other data-oriented programming languages.
- Experience with automated data quality validation across large datasets.
- Familiarity working with Linux servers in virtualized or distributed environments, ensuring stable operations.
- Proficient software engineering and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving technical landscapes.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, document, and maintain schemas and ETL pipelines for internal sports databases and data warehouses.
- Implement and test collection, mapping, and storage procedures to ensure secure access to team, league, and third-party data sources.
- Develop algorithms for quality assurance and imputation to prepare data for exploratory analysis and quantitative modeling.
- Profile and optimize automated data processing tasks to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Coordinate with data providers regarding planned changes to raw data feeds, ensuring seamless integration.
- Deploy and maintain system and database monitoring tools, ensuring stable and reliable performance.
- Collaborate effectively in a distributed work environment, contributing to a dynamic and innovative team.
- Engage in rotating platform support duties, ensuring the reliability and performance of data processing systems.
