We’re looking for a Data Scientist, Analyst or Engineer to join the new Zurich International Life Limited (ZILL) Data team as part of a dynamic, entrepreneurial group dedicated to driving change and innovation.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong skills in SQL and R or Python together with experience with various database technologies and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and software development lifecycles, cloud platforms and data services.
- A respect for data governance within regulated environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with an ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of data modelling and architecture principles.
- Strong statistical and mathematical knowledge.
- Experience with Databricks using Microsoft Azure is a bonus.
- Experience in the insurance or finance industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI / machine learning frameworks would be an additional advantage.
Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the ZILL Data Strategy and drive our data transformation.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand their data needs, ensuring access to data, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems.
- Optimise data systems for performance and scalability.
- Design, implement, and manage data storage solutions (e.g. databases, data lakes, data warehouses) and their data pipelines, ensuring efficient data collection and processing into big data platforms (e.g. Databricks).
- Develop engaging visualisations to effectively communicate data insights to business stakeholders.
- Maintain data models, Power BI reports, and dashboards, ensuring they meet user needs.
- Establish data quality checks and reports.
- Collaborate with teams to support and train data members and citizen data scientists.
- Explore and identify future technological opportunities for advancement.
