Company Description - Green Thumb Nurseries is a local multi-generational family owned wholesale nursery. Focused on quality plant & tree production, sales, service and delivery across Vancouver Island. Serving the landscape, commercial, municipal and retail garden centre communities since 1959. Under Green Thumb ownership, additional sites include a retail garden centre and two production farms. We are in growth mode, continuing to elevate & expand our operations.
Job & Scope - The Data Entry Administrator is responsible for data entry & administration in both our wholesale and retail operations. Opportunity exists to support other businesses under the Green Thumb Umbrella where further career growth and opportunity can be realized. This critical role is a hands-on, intermediate position working closely with various stakeholders for Data Entry on websites (Shopify) and a variety of other administrative tasks including product creation, organizing invoices and the general cleanliness of data.
Reports to: Sales & Service Supervisor with accountability’s to Retail Operations and management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: DATA ENTRY AND ADMINISTRATION

  • Assist in creating new products in Shopify from start to finish including receiving inventory, assigning SKU’s, relaying losses to vendors and creating detailed descriptions.
  • Responsible for copywriting, and in-fill on both websites when outside databases are insufficient.
  • Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry.
  • Verify and log receipt of data.
  • Transfer information from paper formats into computer files as necessary
  • Perform high-volume data entry using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other computer software.
  • Verify the integrity of all data by comparing it to source documents.
  • Review data for errors, missing pages, or missing information and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Respond to requests to retrieve data from the database or electronic filing system.
  • Perform data audits and business analysis to ensure cleanliness and seek opportunity for improvement.
  • Provide ad-hoc basic desktop, network support and troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience specifically in a data entry or analysis role.
  • 3+ years of experience with Shopify in an administrative function.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 50 WPM.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively & receive competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform and enjoy repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Comfortable working both independently and closely with others.
  • Comfortable working with AI capabilities and functions.
  • Comfortable and enjoy working with most tech/platforms.
