Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for accurately entering data from various sources into the necessary systems and databases under the supervision of senior staff. This position will use a variety of software tools to enter data and ensure that it is error-free and up to date.

  • Gathers, organizes and prepares source documents for data entry into the appropriate system database.
  • Reviews data for discrepancies, missing pages or information and resolves discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
  • Enters both alphabetic and numeric data from source documents into the proper system database.
  • Reviews data entered against the original source documents for accuracy and corrects any data entry errors or duplications.
  • Follows data program security practices and procedures at all times.
  • Routinely secures information by completing database backup daily.
  • Performs other varies clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing and proofreading as required.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems, business, or equivalent and keeping current with applicable Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
  • A minimum of 4 years of accounting-related work experience in federal financial management, auditing supporting financial statement audit activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a demanding environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
