Description:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or Postgraduate Diploma (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) in a Data Discipline such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics or related.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance.
  • Experience managing the information flow for organizations, including the integrity, efficiency, and availability of data.
  • Experience in developing and implementing a data governance strategy.
  • Experience creating methods for monitoring and reporting any data incidents.
  • Experience creating common data dictionaries.
  • Familiarity with the industry data governance/ data catalogue / master data management tools and methods that support data standards for an organization.
  • Experience with data catalogue, governance and master data management tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement a data governance strategy, ensuring approach is practical with business stakeholder buy-in.
  • Advise on the implementation of data governance / data catalogue / master data management tools into the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics platform.
  • Mitigate risk through strong data governance
  • Proactively engages with all internal and external stakeholders and advises on data governance best practice.
  • Assesses each project data governance maturity and provide recommendations regarding people, process and technology approaches.
  • Lead deployments of data governance activities across all business areas and projects involved within the Authority.
  • Identifies Authority information assets, requirements, risks and responsibilities;
  • Creating common data dictionaries.
  • Creating methods for monitoring and reporting any data incidents.
  • Create key data quality indicators.
  • Work with other IT personnel to develop data quality standards.
