The Data Governance Lead is responsible for defining, implementing and managing data governance frameworks, policies and standards. The role works on the design and implementation of practical data governance solutions leveraging the latest data technologies to support organizational needs, identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to improve the quality and trustworthiness of data throughout the organization.
This position reports to the Director of Data Management and is part of the Data & Analytics Department located in Cambridge, UK and will be a hybrid or fully remote role. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:
- A bachelor degree or higher in Business Administration (MBA), Computer Science, Information Systems or comparable
- 3 or more years of work experience in data governance, data management or process engineering
- Data analysis and supporting programming languages (eg. Excel, Python, SQL)
- Data visualization (eg. Tableau, PowerBI, Excel)
- Project management (agile and waterfall)
TRAVEL, MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD & PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- The role is expected to travel 5% or less across the abcam sites (e.g. Europe, US, China)
