COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Must have:

  • Proven experience as an Integration Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of master data management and data governance principles.
  • Proficiency in data integration tools and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Ability to capture structured business requirements in a structured user story format.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements to inform a solution design.
  • Strong experience working with APIs to facilitate integrations.
  • Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Collaboration
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to discuss and simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills in managing personal workload and to take the lead and responsibility for projects.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with a modern integration tool such as Boomi, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Fivetran, celigo, Informatica or similar.
  • Experience of working to Agile methodology either via Kanban or sprint approaches.

Responsibilities:

An opportunity has arisen for a Data Integration Engineer t o join the team at Galliford Try within our Group Services Business.
Ideally, you will based in or around the West Midlands or North West area.
The Data Integration Engineer role is part of the Data, Analytics and Development team within the IT function at Galliford Try. The role forms part of the “hub” within the hub and spoke model adopted to support the effective and efficient use of data across Galliford Try.
The accountabilities sit across the landscape of data integration, from the technical design and implementation of integrations to the strategic management and governance of Galliford Try’s integration and master data management approach.
It is critical that the role demonstrates best practice and supports the rest of the central team and wider network of data practitioners across the business in maximising the value that can be derived from data.

Key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data integration solutions that ensure the seamless data flow across various systems in-line with master data management best practices.
  • Champion and contribute to robust governance across integrations and master data management in general.
  • Monitor and optimise data integrations to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Support the implementation and management of a robust master data management approach to critical master data across Galliford Try.
  • Design and implement technical solutions to support improvements in data governance that drive data accuracy and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot data integration-related issues and establish corrective measures.
  • Adopt best practice and champion the standards established by the central team, providing support and guidance to the wider network of data practitioners and users across the business.
  • Provide constructive challenge to team ways of working and putting forward ideas for improvements and new opportunities.
