Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions is currently looking for a Data Modernization Architect 5 to join their team in Englewood, CO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services efforts to modernize our navigation data production domain.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to support the end-to-end modernization of the Navigation Data Production organization within our Digital Aviation Solutions. As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing data solutions that enable efficient and accurate navigation data production processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to ensure the successful transformation of our navigation data production capabilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect, preferably in a complex data-intensive environment.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and data management principles.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Experience in the aviation industry or navigation data production is a plus.
TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience, 18 years’ related work experience, etc.). Preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Data Architecture Strategy: Define and implement a comprehensive data architecture strategy to support the modernization of the Navigation Data Production organization.
- Design Data Models: Create logical and physical data models that align with business requirements and industry best practices, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.
- Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement efficient data integration processes, including data ingestion, transformation, and loading, to support navigation data production workflows.
- Data Governance: Establish data governance frameworks and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance throughout the navigation data production lifecycle.
- Data Storage and Management: Evaluate and recommend appropriate data storage and management technologies, such as databases, data lakes, and data warehouses, to support navigation data production requirements.
- Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration strategies to transition existing navigation data production systems to modernized platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of data solutions.
- Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Continuously monitor industry trends and emerging technologies related to data architecture and navigation data production and provide recommendations for improvement.
