Description:
The Data Design Service sits within the Tech and Data Integration functional area of NHS England. The service engages with senior stakeholders to gather, elaborate and agree requirements for new and/or changes to national data sets and collections for use in health and care in England.
The National Workforce Data Set (NWD), including the NHS Occupation Codes, is the nationally mandated data standard which underpins all national workforce data collections and publications and is used throughout the NHS and by Independent Healthcare Providers.
YOU WILL:
Play a key role in maintaining and developing the National Workforce Data Set, NHS Occupation Codes and associated guidance materials to meet stakeholder requirements, working with a variety of external and internal stakeholders
Play a key role in the development of the documentation required for the Data Alliance Partnership Board (DAPB) approvals process
Provide support and input to the Workforce Information Review Group (WIRG) and related processes
Provide support and subject matter expertise to the workforce team in the running of data quality processes and work closely with system developers
Play a key role in the continuous development of the team’s processes and procedures, incorporating changing requirements
Play a key role in the quality assurance of the team’s outputs including responses to queries
Carry out relevant work in support of the above.
Some of the knowledge, skills and experience we’re looking for:
A broad level of Data Services subject matter expertise as required by the business area, with the ability to provide subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability of working with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and needs, providing effective consultancy, direction and advice to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate information.
Experience of managing and maintaining technical documentation, such as specifications or guidance.
Able to present complex and/or technical information clearly and concisely, adapting communication style to meet the needs of a variety of audiences.
Experience of proactively developing and implementing processes to ensure information in documents/databases adhere to organisational policy and standards. This could include document version controls, error proofing and checking mechanisms.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary organisation/team, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration.
