The Global Security Organization provides industry-leading cyber-security and business protection services to TikTok globally. Our organization employs four principles that guide our strategic and tactical operations. TikTok is seeking a highly adaptable and motivated Process Manager for Data Protection and Sovereignty Solutions. As a key member of our Data Protection team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the privacy and security of our regional data by executing on organisational sovereignty strategy and contributing to the operations and improvement of critical data-driven processes. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Legal and Engineering, to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and the implementation of robust security measures. You will also lead a team of operations employees to execute on your process strategy. This role reports to the Data Sovereignty Lead within Data Protection, a pillar of the Global Security Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of new data sovereignty process development, implementation, and improvement
  • Lead team of operations employees, including volume management and timezone coverage, and personally contribute to priority and expedited operations
  • Increase existing process efficiency, ability to evidence, and drive requirements for automation where necessary
  • Adoption of new processes in compliance with relevant regional regulations and policies, and team capacity
  • Build and compile artifact repositories to certify security and privacy operations in relation to regionalised security and privacy requirements
  • Manage reporting and response execution for data sovereignty processes
  • Ensure metrics coverage, accuracy, and usability to make key decisions and inform executive strategy
  • Draft and execute processes that require expedited and prioritized response, in scenarios that may require collaboration across multiple teams
  • Deliver projects in alignment with established guidelines for data sovereignty and data regionalization across global regions
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving data sovereignty and regionalization requirements and guidelines (e.g., GDPR, cross-border transfer requirements)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure process implementations comply with relevant regional regulations and policies
  • Provide input in cross-functional Legal and Engineering engagements where security operations are required to advance Global Security-Data Protection owned projects
  • Collaborate with engineers to assess new process requests for adherence to data privacy and security requirements
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to ensure technical solutions align with best practices and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of data privacy regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, or other global data protection laws
  • Strong understanding of Data privacy regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), Data security principles, Data transfer mechanisms
  • Strong critical thinking skills and process-driven mindset to apply to standardise key security and privacy solutions
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge and remain current on new developments in data sovereignty, data regionalization and data privacy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree or industry equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in cybersecurity, or privacy program management
  • Relevant certification: CIPP/E, CISSP
  • Understanding of Privacy Operations, Security Operations, Incident Response
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams (both technical and non-technical), influence without authority and persuade priorities, objectives and controls to stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements or non-standard situations
