Description:

A new exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Quality Officer to support the Macmillan Personalised Care Transformation Lead in collecting, analysing, reporting and monitoring data related to the key elements of Personalised Care in line with national directives
The role involves working with key stake holders across the organisation ensuring the cancer personalised care data submitted nationally via the Somerset Cancer Register is accurate, complete, consistent, reliable and accessible.
We would welcome applications from individuals educated to GCSE Level in English and Mathematics, poses a IDCL qualification and vocation qualification at Level 4
Interested applicants must have considerable experience of data inputting and knowledge of the Somerset Cancer Register. Excellent IT and keyboard skills, good communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously, able to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines, plus achieve high levels of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
The post holder will be responsible for collecting, reporting and monitoring data related to the key elements of Personalised Cancer Care on the Somerset Cancer Register to both internal and external key stakeholders.
The post holder will offer integral support across the organisation, ensuring that the Personalised Care data is accurate, complete, consistent, reliable and accessible .
The post holder will coordinate upgrades to the Somerset Cancer Register, reviewing and testing new ways of working in line with the national rollout twice yearly

To work under the direction of the Macmillan Personalised Care Transformation Lead collecting, inputting and monitoring patient data related to the key elements of Personalised Care, including Holistic Needs Assessments, End of Treatment Summaries and Health and Wellbeing in line with national directives
To coordinate the twice-yearly upgrades to the Somerset Cancer Register including review and testing of new functionality, presenting new ways of working to the Cancer CNS’s/Support Workers, acting as a super user for any queries/concerns
To have a secure understanding of the key elements of Personalised Care and the national measurements determined by NHSE.
To report data independently from the Somerset Cancer Register at a local, regional and national level to support compliance and quality of the Personalised Care delivered.
To establish and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, this will include communicating with NHS Digital and wider NHSE agencies to ensure local accuracy, reliability, and compliance with the Personalised Cancer Care agenda. This may include communicating complex data information at times.
To liaise with site specific nurse specialists/support workers to understand variation in data collection, working with them to identify and resolve anomalies
To produce data quality reports in order to check and correct patient data, ensuring the accuracy of that data and monitoring any problem areas to escalate as necessary to the Macmillan Personalised Care Transformation Lead
To become skilled in data management and reporting to ensure regulatory compliance.
To produce accurate and time sensitive reports for the Macmillan Personalised Care Transformation Lead and other key stake holders.
To contribute to the development of effective and accurate record keeping of Personalised Care, playing a critical role in ensuring data is entered onto the Somerset Cancer Register
To be actively involved in the education and training of staff who deliver Personalised Care.
To pull data from the Somerset Cancer Register for audit purposes including monthly reporting to NHS England, quarterly reports on the number of Holistic Needs Assessments for the specialist nurses and number of End of Treatment Summaries completed after each modality of treatment for clinicians to determine the quality of Personalised Care delivered. The Trust may be required to submit reports to the East Midlands Cancer Alliance as require
