Description:

DESCRIPTION

The Data Science Analyst plays an integral role in the Centre of Excellence for Reporting at GS1 Canada by providing reporting and analytical support for GS1 Canada systems, Industry Managed Solutions (IMS’s), and cross functional departments. This includes model development and implementation, regular and ad-hoc reporting, database maintenance, and projects.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

  • At least 1-3 years of experience using Excel for reporting and VBA for automation.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in PowerBI or related technology for data visualization.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in SQL for data mining and cleansing.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in creating and maintaining database models and ETL processes.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in Python for Data Analytics/Data Science is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of Data Lake and Data Warehouse architecture and design is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, you must be able to gather context from senior leadership and dive into details with developers and analysts and assist with the build of visualizations or storytelling which allow the business to make decisions with confidence.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with a track record of developing, analyzing, and leveraging KPIs to develop actionable insights.

Job Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate university degree (Bachelor or Honours Bachelor) Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or related field of study is preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ related experience with initial and On-going training
