Your Job
We are looking for a Data Science Leader to join our Data and Analytics team. The ideal candidate is someone who shows the ability to lead a dedicated team of individuals supporting our advanced analytics initiatives, accelerate the value created by our AI/ML, and bring creativity to solving the challenges of deriving insights from manufacturing equipment data and diverse applications. This person will report to the Director of Data and Analytics at INVISTA.

You will lead a talented team of data scientists to deliver data-driven insights that support strategic business decisions. You will oversee the development of advanced analytics and machine learning models, ensuring that data science projects align with business objectives and deliver measurable value. Your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment within the data science team.

WHO YOU ARE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field)
  • Experience supervising or leading a team
  • Experience leading/managing Data Science projects through to completion and value capture
  • Knowledge of various predictive, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques (classification, predictive, artificial neural networks, etc.) and real-world applications such as computer vision
  • Hands-on experience in programming with Python and machine learning packages (Tensorflow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn, Pandas, etc.)
  • Fluency/Experience with SQL
  • This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Scientists, providing guidance and fostering professional growth. Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
  • Work closely with business teams to understand challenges and translate them into data science projects. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data science projects, ensuring they meet scope, quality, and timeline requirements. Prepare and present reports on project outcomes and the impact of data science efforts on business objectives. Define and track key performance indicators for data science initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions and prioritize projects based on alignment with INVISTA’s vision.
  • Guide the development of advanced analytics, predictive models, and machine learning solutions. Apply machine learning algorithms to perform analysis, create predictive models, visualize data, and drive projects through to delivery toward solving problems.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies and promote the adoption of innovative methodologies. Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts across Koch Industries to leverage shared knowledge and best practices.
  • Effectively communicate complex data science concepts and project results to non-technical stakeholders with strong data-driven storytelling.
  • Develop a strong understanding of INVISTA’s business processes and identify possible opportunities that add value.
