THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Director, Research & Development Analytics, we’re seeking someone passionate about applying machine learning and statistical modelling techniques to support our investment strategy at Amica Senior Lifestyles, reporting directly to the Director of Research & Development Analytics. This individual will work closely with cross-functional partners to research data science models and forecasting techniques and oversee the models’ end-to-end implementation into production systems. Working with teams of diverse skill sets and backgrounds, leading research projects to solve the most challenging and convoluted problems an investment team can have. Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute a long-term roadmap of elevating data science capabilities within Amica by researching, piloting, and introducing leading-edge data technologies and products.
  • Help Research & Development initiatives and find new approaches to improve work efforts.
  • Identify, prioritize, and evangelize the areas where data science techniques can impact most.
  • Effectively plan and manage analytics projects
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders (technical & non-technical), including senior management, to provide updates on projects and ensure that goals are achieved.
  • Be the trusted subject matter expert for all data science needs at the Amica Investments Department.
  • Define data science projects end to end, including identifying opportunities, defining the problem, building proof of concepts, and deploying solutions to production.
  • Design and implement complex statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze large datasets.
  • Work with team members to define the scale and scope of each project, including requirements, design, development, and deployment efforts required to meet timelines and deliverables.
  • Guide and mentor data analysts in improving data quality and availability; help them create rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis.
  • Balance multiple competing priorities effectively and track documentation and deliverables organizationally.
  • Develop, monitor, and enhance analytical solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders and IT professionals.
