Description:

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, with a proven track record of delivering AI solutions.
  • Experience in the insurance or financial industry is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Familiarity with NLP and/or computer vision techniques and their application to real world tasks.
  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes and database systems
  • Experience with Linux (bash, docker) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) are beneficial
  • Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work with and analyze multilingual datasets effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
  • A self-driven, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation.

Responsibilities:

WHY THIS ROLE IS EXCITING?

We’re looking for a skilled and innovative Data Scientist to help build and deploy advanced AI solutions for claim automation. In this role, you’ll focus on developing machine learning models, including Deep Learning and Large Language Models, to process complex claims data, extract insights, and create impactful solutions for our clients.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving challenging problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying the latest advancements in AI to real-world use cases.
This role is a one-year maternity leave replacement, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent contract after the initial year.

YOUR TASKS

  • Design, develop, and fine-tune machine learning solutions for claim processing tasks, such as document classification, information extraction, question answering and decision making.
  • Build and deploy machine learning models for natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics to automate claims workflows.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to integrate AI models into production systems and evaluate their real-world performance.
  • Optimize data pipelines to handle large-scale structured and unstructured data, ensuring high data quality and efficient processing.
  • Conduct rigorous model evaluation, including metrics for accuracy, scalability, and robustness, while addressing fairness and ethical considerations.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning and apply them to improve our techniques and solutions.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and results for internal use and external communication.
