Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. The is role is remote and can be based in the US, Canada, France, or Spain.
The Data Scientist will be part of the Global Data Analytics Center of Excellence and will play a pivotal role in driving data analysis, process automation and improvement, data exploration and preparation, and machine learning models with advanced tools and technologies. Responsibilities:

Candidates need to be motivated, self-driven, creative with strong technical skills, extensive business experience and financial knowledge to translate complex information into actionable insights for a wide range of stakeholders. This role is fast-paced and highly visible within the company interfacing with Finance, Commercial, Global Supply Chain management teams, and various functions across the organization. Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, have outstanding story telling skills to deliver insights to senior management, and champion changes across functions and businesses in promoting data culture.

  • Drive the experimentation and integration of advanced analytics algorithms to extract actionable insights, foster impactful and purpose-driven innovations aligned with the company’s long-term vision and strategy.
  • Engage in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize high-impact projects essential for the company’s long-term success, ensuring they align seamlessly with strategic objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop data-driven strategies and solutions that effectively address critical business challenges.
  • Drive the transformation of the COE by solving complex data challenges and redefining existing practices, processes, and approaches to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data-driven initiatives that directly support long-term business objectives, leveraging insights to maximize ROI and drive sustainable growth.
  • Proactively identify and solve unforeseen problems through analytical rigor and innovative thinking, driving continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping and redefining the company’s future through transformative data-driven initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

Capabilities/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in advanced analytics algorithms, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, Snowflake, and MS Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, etc), and extensive experience in Python (Scikit-learn, Pandas, Plotly, Seaborn, etc.).
  • Experience working with large amounts of data and extracting insights from complex datasets; demonstrated track record of driving impact through data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven experience with cloud computing environments, particularly AWS SageMaker, including developing, deploying, and managing machine learning models, automating workflows, and optimizing cloud-based resources for efficient performance and cost management. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in data science and technology.
  • Prior experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing domains preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in working with large amount of data from different sources and providing meaningful insights.
  • Knowledge and real-world experience in statistical modelling and predictive analytics such as linear modelling, regression, random forest, decision tree, time series forecasting, etc.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, curious, and creative; ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and independently.
  • Multitasking skills and ability to act with sense of urgency and work under pressure.

Education / Experience:

  • 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or another relevant field.
  • MBA or MS preferred.
