About the role
The data science team sits in our Digital & Technology function and carries out advanced analytical work across HEINEKEN. Part of the global analytics community, the team has conducted work across all functions of our business from supply chain to sales, to marketing and our pub business.
Exploring and exploiting data to answer business questions is at the heart of this role. The ability to wrangle large, complex data sets; conduct exploratory data analysis and data mining; build machine learning models and effectively communicate complex concepts and outcomes concisely with clarity through visualisations and clear outputs.
Reporting into the Data Science Lead you’ll help HEINEKEN drive towards its commercial ambitions by leveraging its unique data assets to help bring out the best in the great British pub, extend our leadership in cider, accelerate premium beer growth and maximise mainstream beer profits.
You’ll lead and conduct analysis, provide consultancy to our business areas, create data products and work to provide insight and foresight from data to improve operations and gain competitive advantage through technical, technique, experimental design and execution and problem-solving.
You’ll apply compute, statistical and business knowledge to the exploration and exploitation of data applying a scientific method approach using a variety of tools and analytical techniques tackling descriptive, predictive and prescriptive problems.
Who we’re looking for
You must have a strong mathematical/statistical background combined with strong computer skills. We’ll also need your analytical, curious and problem-solving mind.
You’ll need to be an excellent communicator and able to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels, both internal, external and globally. Most importantly, you need to be eager to learn! There are always new ways of doing things, we’d like you to be curious and passionate about bringing the outside in.

If you have;

  • Experience in managing project requirements, designing and testing solutions, and delivering and supporting services is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and influencing skills to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • A proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines in a structured and objective manner. Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Fantastic stakeholder management as well as experience working within a local and global context is preferred.
  • Technical credibility and independent judgement and decision-making responsibilities
  • Experience working with Azure and Databricks.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Knowledge of MLOps is beneficial.
  • Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector or aspects of it such as marketing, supply chain, logistics, business operations, manufacturing, etc. is a plus.

Our office sites operate a hybrid model. You’ll spend Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office and can work from home on Mondays and Fridays, although you’re more than welcome to come and work from the office on those days too.
