PROGRAM SUMMARY
KBR is seeking a Data Scientist to develop a series of courses in advanced data analysis using the R programming language and other Statistical Analysis tools for the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). AFIT is the Air Force’s graduate school of engineering and management as well as its institution for technical professional continuing education. AFIT is committed to providing defense-focused graduate and professional continuing education and research to sustain the technological supremacy of America’s air and space forces. AFIT/LS is the School of Systems & Logistics. Through their mission to develop and deliver acquisition and logistics education, the education faculty will rely on employees to support classroom training products, techniques, and tools. This effort is to support the development of courses focused on data science. The Air Force has a need to increase its investment in talent to help establish a data-driven culture.
JOB SUMMARY
Develop a series of courses in advanced data analysis using the R programming language and other Statistical Analysis tools. Assist AFIT/LS in researching, developing, editing, and maintaining course materials as necessary. We are seeking a data science educational specialist to manage curriculum development. The candidate will be expected to have expert knowledge of data preprocessing, data visualization, Python, C ++, R, MATLAB, and curriculum development.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Data Science & Analytics, Engineering, or Mathematics and 5 years experience in related field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Secret clearance or ability to obtain a secret clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree in Data Science & Analytics, Engineering, or Mathematics
- DoD experience and knowledge commensurate to the courses being developed
Responsibilities:
- Research, develop, edit, and maintain course materials for advanced data analysis
- May provide instructor assistance with posting/mailing student materials, student registrations, classroom support, coordinating guest speakers, teleconferences, and other faculty requested assistance pertaining to the course
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Working knowledge and familiarity with statistical analysis tools
- Experience with curriculum development
- DoD experience and knowledge commensurate to the courses being developed
