    The Financial Insights and Direction (FInD) team within EU FP&A is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic group. We are responsible for developing sophisticated algorithms and models that leverage large amounts of financial data to drive strategic decision-making across the organization.
    As a Data Scientist on our team, you will play a crucial role in forecasting Amazon’s financial performance, optimizing inventory and labor planning, and uncovering valuable business insights. Your work will directly impact hundreds of millions of dollars in inventory and operational costs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, data mining, and advanced analytics techniques.
2+ years of experience in data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, MATLAB).
2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
Bachelor’s degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field.
2+ years of experience implementing deep learning models in a production environment.
Expertise in processing, analyzing, and presenting large, complex datasets (millions to billions of rows).
Strong background in financial forecasting and time series analysis.

Natural curiosity and a desire to learn and innovate.

  • Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
  • Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

Contribute to Amazon’s global finance community through collaboration and the publication of groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and conferences.
Utilize advanced analytical tools and programming languages (Python, R, SQL, etc.) to extract insights from large, diverse datasets.
