As a Data Scientist & Machine Learning Engineer you will be joining as an integral member of our Future Lighting team. Artificial Intelligence solutions play a key role in what we do, and we are supporting other teams to release, improve and maintain AI based solutions. Helvar has built a lighting control platform where large amounts of data is collected and processed from hundreds and thousands of sensors and devices installed in Smart Buildings. We believe intelligent lighting will become the service/data platform and brains of buildings of the future.

WHAT KIND OF SKILLS DO WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

  • Excellent understanding of Python.
  • Experience with Python ML tech stack (Scikit-learn, Tensorflow/Pytorch, Pandas, Numpy etc.)
  • Experience with SQL based database languages. Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Experience with at least 1 visualization library. Knowledge of Python as HTML frameworks (Streamlit/Dash/Gradio) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AWS. You understand how to manage datasets and model training and deployment on AWS and are familiar with microservices such S3, Glue, Athena, Spark etc.
  • Understanding of LLM prompting, tokenization and using vector databases is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SW development lifecycle and tools like Git and Docker

What you can add to our fantastic team

  • Excellent understanding of core machine learning algorithms such as clustering, classification, regression, anomaly detection, and optimization.
  • Solid understanding of Time-series Analysis and Modelling (including Signal Processing).
  • Ability to build decriptive/analytical/predictive models that consume raw/refined data and produce actionable insights.
  • Good understanding of Computer Vision techniques such as object detection and segmentation in Images.
  • Knowledge of Graph based algorithms is a plus.

Your role as a Data Scientist & Machine Learning Engineer is flexible, we encourage you to be yourself and utilise your skills. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer-first approach with a strong emphasis on story-telling. How a dataset can be leveraged to provide value to our customers.
  • Perform Exploratory Data Analysis to identify meaningful patterns to create new products or improve existing ones.
  • You will create Demos and pilots to show both external and internal stakeholders how our products and solutions can work, to inspire our own personnel and customers to see further (both literally and figuratively).
  • You will help maintain our data science solutions and reach accordingly
  • You will coordinate and participate in partnership projects with universities and other partner companies
  • You will come up with innovative approaches to our service and product offerin
