Join our SMB Engineering team and help us unlock the potential of the rapidly growing Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment. As a Data Scientist on our SMB Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for creating delightful experiences that directly impact revenue and customer satisfaction.
Our SMB Engineering team is agile, creative, and determined to foster an experimentation culture. Despite being a recent addition to the E+D family, we have the potential for expansive growth and impact. Our responsibility is to accelerate M365 SMB Growth by creating fluid experiences for SMB customers through various channels. As a Data Scientist for the SMB Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to leverage Microsoft’s rich and diverse data sources to create innovative solutions that help the SMB businesses grow and succeed. You will work closely with product owners, engineers, marketers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable insights and recommendations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR equivalent experience.
- Exposure to Azure Data Explorer / Kusto Query Language / Machine Learning algorithms.
- Experience in Software/Data Engineering.
- Familiarity with Microsoft tooling/ecosystem are a plus.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and works with Senior Data Scientists on projects to align with business needs and deliver value.
- Contributes to the development and application of frameworks and best practices for scalable and ethical solutions.
- Works closely with Senior Data Scientists and Data Engineers to deploy models that drive SMB M365 business.
- Leverage telemetry and monitoring to provide insights.
- Follow data modeling and handling procedures to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and policies across your assigned workstreams.
- Performs analysis on A/B testing.
- Design and develop data pipelines and queries to automate the extraction, transformation, and loading of data, ensuring scalability, reliability, and data quality.
