Description:

The Data Science team at Mimecast is the advanced analytical engine of the Business Intelligence team, focused on solving high-value business problems using cutting-edge AI/ML tools and techniques. This role involves building and enhancing machine learning models, collaborating with stakeholders to develop new Generative AI tools, and transforming the business with actionable insights. We prioritize providing exceptional user experiences and taking on projects with game-changing potential. At Mimecast, we deliver the right data to the right people at the right time, supporting data-driven decisions with self-service dashboards, custom alerts, and executive presentations. What You’ll Do:

  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business to evaluate, prioritize, and develop new Machine Learning and Generative AI powered solutions to solve business problems.
  • Own, maintain, and optimize existing Machine Learning models, as required
  • Work collaboratively with analysts, data engineers, and analytics engineers to bring data science and machine learning powered solutions to life.
  • Partner directly with functional teams to bring data and analytics expertise to our decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to the Data Science team’s capabilities as an internal expert on machine learning and advanced analytics.
  • Foster stakeholder partnerships, and work to create a culture of collaboration and data literacy to increase the company’s analytics maturity.
  • Present findings and technically challenging topics to a diverse group of technical and non-technical business stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in data science, analytics or directly related area, during which both technical and analytical capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
  • Prior success deploying machine learning solutions based on complex datasets at scale in production environments with an emphasis on creating impact to business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to extract actionable insights from statistical and machine learning powered models.
  • Strong knowledge of the underlying mathematical foundations of machine learning algorithms including linear regression, classification methods, clustering algorithms, Random Forests, time series analysis, and deep learning.
  • Demonstrated excellence in using Python and SQL to develop data science workflows usings tools such as scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Snowflake, and dbt.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a simple manner to colleagues & stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and working cross-functionally with teams and stakeholders to design and implement machine learning powered solutions.
  • Strong understanding of best practices and KPIs around e-commerce, transactional and subscription-based products is a plus.
  • Experience with building solutions and utilizing tools in AWS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with generative AI techniques (LLMs, GANS, VAEs) and their applications in business operations is highly desirable.
