JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Scientist at Wellstar values the ability to work along the entirety of the data science/machine learning stack. From partnering with the business to crafting a high impact strategy through data acquisition to ETL pipeline build, ML research, training, deployment and optimization to delivering actionable results captured in well crafted business metrics which are surfaced through dashboards/visualizations and used to validate the value provided by the health system. The Data Scientist is motivated by the creation of reproducible code and research that delivers results. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new data products, maintaining existing data products and supporting the data pipeline that feeds them. The Data Scientist collaborates across the enterprise on the definition and requirements of data science/machine learning products within an agile framework. This position is an integral part of establishing a new data science team for the enterprise under the direction of the Chief Data Office. As a result, this position will require the ability to oversee start-to-finish development of a wide array of technical solutions from a foundational stage.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years Hands-on experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) based solution development using machine learning in general and deep learning techniques. Required and Minimum 1 year Demonstrated experience in solving regression and classification problems using both supervised and unsupervised techniques, Natural Language Generation (NLU), entity recognition, transfer learning, language modeling and transformer-based architecture Required and Minimum 1 year Experience working with large datasets, diving into data to discover hidden patterns, using data visualization tools, with advanced proficiency in SQL, Python and R studio. Required and Minimum 1 year Self-starter who is analytical and intellectually curious. An excellent problem-solver who is comfortable working with messy and/or unstructured data and translating clinical and business questions into discernable data insights to help drive positive outcomes. Required and Minimum 1 year Advanced proficiency in fine tuning, training, and validating a text classifier algorithm. Required and Minimum 1 year Proficient in exploring & analyzing unstructured / text data and conclude findings/insights. Required and Minimum 1 year Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau or PowerBI. Required and Minimum 1 year Demonstrated business focus; must excel at connecting business requirements to analytic objectives and to measurable business benefit. Responsibilities:

Work with vast amounts of data from multiple sources to develop/refine/improve predictive models using advanced Python and machine learning techniques. Deliver high-impact actionable insights to senior leadership and business operations; enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Wellstar operations while focusing on patient and operational improvement. Perform exploratory data analysis from structured, unstructured, and diverse datasets; apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement. Data preprocessing: clean, prepare and verify integrity of data to be used for analysis Discover and communicate actionable insights to decision makers. Make presentations to leadership and decision-makers. Partner with various functions to produce innovative and transformative data science solutions which directly contribute to achieving enterprise goals and vision. Other Duties a. Understand process improvement techniques utilized at WellStar and practice them with your own work processes. Actively work with the Data Science team on process improvement efforts to improve productivity and quality of output. b. Participate in departmental and cross-functional teams representing Data & Insights as needed. c. Work independently and multi-task effectively on multiple assignments as needed. d.
