Reporting to the Senior Director of Data, this role is based in Kitchener, ON, and offers a combination of salary, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. The analyst will manage system changes, troubleshoot application issues, build analytics infrastructure, and support cross-departmental projects, requiring strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
Key responsibilities include designing and improving processes for scalability and efficiency, managing changes in business systems, developing data pipelines, creating BI dashboards, and migrating legacy reporting/analytics processes to modern solutions (Fivetran, S3, Snowflake, Sigma). The role also involves collaborating on special projects and working closely with other departments. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with a generalist mindset, capable of taking end-to-end ownership of projects and contributing to Riverdale’s digital transformation efforts.
The position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. It is well-suited for individuals with a background in data analytics, software development, or engineering, who possess a commercial mindset and business acumen. What You Bring to the Role
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience in technology & data focused role
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Experience in a role where attention to detail was critical
2+ years experience working with data lake/warehouse systems, designing tables, setting up data pipelines/ELT processes, creating dashboards and data products for consumption by business users
Experience using data analysis/BI tools: R, SQL, Python, PowerBI/Looker/Sigma/Tableau/etc
2+ years experience scoping and executing projects: Problem definition, requirements gathering, task breakdown and timelines, design, build, test, implement, stakeholder verification, document
2+ years experience using any modern programming language - Python, Javascript, Java, etc
Experience using computers in your everyday life. You are comfortable navigating through different programs as needed such as Excel, Email, and Data Entry, and are familiar with keyboard shortcuts. Able to learn new tools/software as needed
A minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
Advanced communication and listening skills with the ability to interpret and convey ideas/concepts clearly and concisely (both written and verbal)
Comfortable working with others in a cohesive team environment
