The Data Warehouse Architect is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining of Cloudflight’s internal data warehouse system. This role involves working closely with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. The DWH Architect ensures data integrity, quality, and availability through the creation of efficient ETL processes, data models, and reporting mechanisms.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing and implementing scalable data warehouse architecture for business intelligence. Defining and maintaining data models and dictionaries
- Developing and optimising ETL processes for accurate data delivery
- Managing data integration from various sources
- Monitoring and improving query performance and data load times
- Performing warehouse tuning and optimisation
- Establishing data governance for accuracy, consistency, and security
- Implementing data quality monitoring and error-handling
- Gathering and documenting requirements for new data initiatives
- Ensuring the data warehouse is aligned with Cloudflight’s IT strategyMaintaining documentation and providing training on warehouse functionalities
THE FOLLOWING WILL MAKE YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehousing, database management, and ETL development
- Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Hands-on experience with data warehouse tools (e.g. AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric)
- Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools
- Familiarity with ETL tools (ideally dbt)
- Understanding of BI tools and reporting platforms (ideally Power BI)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English and German
