REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field with a BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited college or university; 3 years experience with an MS/MA.
- Knowledge of back-end development and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Cloud-based database structures and concepts (Databricks, etc.).
- Proficiency in using data transformation languages such as Python, SQL, and R.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL principles, and data architectures.
- Demonstrated skills in solving problems and responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives.
- Must enjoy working in a team environment with frequent customer contact and have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance (interim clearance required to commence task work).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience with USTRANSCOM or Department of Defense military logistics.
- Experience with the Palantir Foundry platform.
- Proficiency in using PySpark. Target Salary Range
$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Peraton is seeking a data-driven, highly skilled mind for a Data Warehouse Programmer role in the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) at United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM).
ROLE:
This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures that support a wide variety of USTRANSCOM operations. In this role, you will leverage your experience and knowledge to guide the transformation of fractured data sources into a consolidated, logical structure that becomes the basis for creating decision advantage. In this way, you will join other motivated professionals in helping USTRANSCOM succeed in its mission to project and sustain the Joint Force in support of national objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide data engineering expertise to create the data foundation for critical operations support areas such as time-series forecasting, aerial refueling analysis, and transportation demand and capacity planning.
- Apply current best practices to design, maintain, and optimize the data infrastructure of a multi-faceted center of analysis for global transportation.
- Enable data collection, management, transformation, and access via data pipelines that convert raw data into usable formats for data scientists and other data consumers.
- Develop, update, and design data schema and data ontologies to maximize the effectiveness of available tools and analytical products.
- Support organizational transitions between data platforms.
- Optimize data flows from multiple sources into a distributed data storage framework by leveraging efficient, distributed data processing techniques.
- Communicate regularly with data scientists, data engineers, and data consumers to understand current and future analytical efforts and tools.
- Adapt to errors, technology outages, and changing requirements to minimize delays in providing support to USTRANSCOM operations.
- Analyze data and apply data validation rules to minimize data gaps and improve integrity.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable data governance and security policies.
- Provide quality documentation for all work to ensure transparency and operational continuity.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of data technology trends.
