EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 2+ years Demonstrated DBA experience within a large complex environment
  • 2+ years Demonstrated experience with SQL Server in a database administrator role
  • Experience with windows server administration

NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Quickly learns and applies new technical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Goal oriented, highly self-motivated

Responsibilities:

  • Design, installation, configuration and maintenance of development, testing, staging, reporting and production database servers
  • Database development, including tables, keys, indexes, constraints, queries, views, stored procedures, triggers, user defined functions
  • Monitoring database server CPU usage, memory usage, disk space, deadlocks, blocking, error logs and scheduled jobs
  • Database performance monitoring and performance tuning
  • Manage server, database, and object security
  • Create maintenance plan to backup database, check database integrity, reorganize index, rebuild index, and update statistics
  • Design, implement and maintain SQL Server Replication
  • Create and maintain SQL Server Agent jobs, Alerts and Operators
  • Create and maintain database diagrams and data dictionaries
  • Database analysis, modeling, logical design, and physical design
  • Code review database changes made by software developers
  • Experience creating and maintaining SSRS reports and SSIS packages
  • Windows Server installation, administration, and security hardening
  • Expertise in utilizing Agile Development Practices
