Location: Bradford/ Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office a week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to join the Data team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The data team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
The role will be managing a team of colleagues to maintain the company database of medium to high complexity, whilst driving the development polices, strategies and standards across the Database Administration Team.
Providing subject matter expertise to other technology teams, key customers and senior managers and leading activities to optimise database configuration and access, you will ensure the Database Administrators (DBA) resolve database capacity and performance issues in a timely manner and will be accountable for database recovery and back up.

WHAT SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Excellent knowledge of integration with various infrastructures within an enterprise organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of ANSI SQL and be familiar with the ITIL framework with proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL, and other relational database systems.
  • Experience in supporting mission critical production systems, with the ability to implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database(s)
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and Linux environments and understand Linux system administration, scripting, and process automation.
  • Knowledge and capability of delivering documentation, testing and release management principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery and performance monitoring standards
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of service continuity planning and IT Security.
