Description:

The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support our client’s Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) initiatives. This role involves maintaining application software, monitoring and troubleshooting issues within the software environment, and forecasting and planning for application capacity and demand. While database management will be your primary focus, you will also assist with Java troubleshooting, scripting, and automation as needed. You will primarily work with Microsoft SQL, with potential exposure to Oracle when collaborating with external teams.

In addition, you will regularly interact with Infrastructure Administration sub-teams to support AvPLM Cloud environments and related applications, including Siemens Teamcenter PLM suite and eQube MI. You will work alongside other System Administrators and the Applications Administration team to perform various infrastructure and integration activities, including managing the AWS GovCloud-hosted system boundary for AvPLM environments and utilizing AWS Cloud Native Services for daily operations.

Anticipated Tasks:

  • Perform daily checks of IT systems
  • Triage, monitor, and work National Help Desk support tickets
  • Complete Configuration Change Control Board (CCB) requests
  • Perform general IT requirements, installation, configuration, maintenance, and security in an unclassified network environment for applications, databases, integrations, or infrastructure as assigned
  • Troubleshoot the hardening of database applications in compliance with DoD RMF policies.
  • Support database performance monitoring including monitoring disk space; and resource utilization, capacity and availability
  • Advise on and support database interactions for software installation, configuration, and patching.
  • Provide troubleshooting support using applications logs and Windows logs
  • Coordinate outsourced help requests
  • Assist with coordination of Maintenance Scheduling
  • Assist with license and subscription management
  • Possess the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Attend and contribute to Teams collaboration meetings for new requirements, troubleshooting/diagnosis, monitoring, and server-side application support.
  • Assist with documenting processes and procedures and keeping documentation updated
  • Provide weekend and after hours support as required

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in an IT related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering) plus four years’ experience or 8+years of experience in a related field in lieu of a degree
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret clearance or clearance eligibility, Single Scope Background Investigation
  • Security+ CE
  • OS Certification

Annual Salary Range is $80,000 to $113,000 depending on experience. The compensation range reflects the Company’s reasonable expectations at the time of posting. We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs.
