JOB DETAILS:
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our High-Performance Computing (HPC) Team based in Crawley, UK. Reporting to the Global Database Team Leader, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting, administering, and managing databases that underpin critical enterprise business applications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar work experience.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of professional experience as an APPS Application DBA with Oracle, or Postgresql.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting for database systems and associated applications.
- Configure and optimize Oracle and Linux OS parameters for maximum performance and resource utilization.
- Apply knowledge of server clustering techniques and their impact on database configuration and performance using Oracle CRS clustering software.
- Manage standby databases, snapshots, and advanced features such as Oracle Data Guard.
- Implement database recovery techniques using RMAN and flashback recovery, including performing exports, RMAN backups, and data extractions as required.
- Oversee Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments and troubleshoot RAC node issues.
- Participate in the design and code review of applications for efficient database integration.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for system and database monitoring.
- Design and implement procedures for data migration and application development.
- Participate in project-related meetings and troubleshooting discussions.
- Build a deep working knowledge of key applications and their database interactions.
- Deliver application development, enhancements, performance tuning, and support services for assigned projects.
- Manage Oracle applications, including Oracle Apps and Middleware technology products, schema updates, data migrations, tech upgrades, and patching.
- The possibility to expand knowledge, and experience in Data Science. Any of the following skills would be advantageous. SQL, Python and other languages surrounding Big Data for analysing data and building statistical models for specific business problems.
You will be required to work in 24 x 7 with on-call
