POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Database Designer is responsible for maintaining the security of databases, preventing unauthorized access and activities, and upgrading data infrastructure. This role involves administering and maintaining database security, integrity, and optimization, developing new databases and applications, and identifying and resolving performance and capacity issues. The Database Designer will also establish and maintain backup and recovery processes and manage user rights and permissions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• IAT Level: 2
• Information Assurance (IA) Certification: Sec+ (Security+) or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in defining database design, including tables, indexes, views, constraints, triggers, stored procedures, and other database-specific constructs.
• DB Migrations: Knowledge of database migrations and related processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in database design or a related role.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining database security, integrity, and optimization.and integrity.

• Database Security: Maintain the security of databases, preventing unauthorized access and activities, and ensuring secure data transfer and monitoring methods.
• Data Infrastructure: Upgrade and maintain data infrastructure to support organizational needs.
• Database Administration: Administer and maintain database security, integrity, and optimization to ensure efficient and secure data management.
• Database Development: Develop new databases and applications to meet business requirements and enhance operational efficiency.
• Performance and Capacity Management: Identify and resolve performance and capacity issues to ensure optimal database performance.
• Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain robust backup and recovery processes to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
• User Rights Management: Manage user rights and permissions to ensure appropriate access control and data security.
• Database Design: Define the database design, including tables, indexes, views, constraints, triggers, stored procedures, and other database-specific constructs needed to store, retrieve, and delete objects.
• DB Migrations: Utilize knowledge of database migrations to manage data transfers and integrations effectively.
