Role Profile
The DataScope suite of applications is part of our Pricing and Reference Service business. It is a respected application used in the wider finance industry where clients can download both market data in bulk form or in customized reports. The application has 4k+ external clients who consume financial data to analyse funds and the market position of global industry players.
In this role, you’ll be joining our Enterprise Data Solutions as a Business Analyst: serving the entire spectrum of data needs across asset classes, latency and delivery mechanisms including real-time data and news, reference and legal entity data.

Profile/Required Skills

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Familiarity with and experience in scrum/agile environment.
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly with outstanding analytical skills, structured thinking, ability to connect the dots across similar problem statements and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse audiences.
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Well versed in agile methodologies including scrum and kanban and able to undertake analysis as part of an agile squad. This should include user story creation and user story refinement.
  • Experience with financial market data and/or financial market products.

We are looking for someone who:
Has a natural analytical way of thinking and is able to digest difficult concepts and explain them to non-technical users.
You will work as a member of the application development team, alongside architects, developers, quality engineers, and other team members. Your main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and performing some user acceptance testing.

Experience

  • Experience creating and giving detailed presentations
  • Experience in the DataScope suite of applications highly preferable.
  • Degree in business, software engineering, or an adjacent field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Business Analysis role
  • Experience in using business tools such as Jira and Confluence for task planning, tracking and documentation needs.
  • Practical experience leading requirements gathering and review sessions

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and documenting business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Performing requirements analysis and translating into technical requirements
  • Elaboration of user stories alongside development team members in order to have a common understanding of requirements
  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
  • Working closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff.
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Performing or facilitating user acceptance testing.
  • Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures.
  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
