Position Summary:
The DataSphere Lab Technical Consultant will be involved in multiple initiatives of the lab including technical consulting for clients, development of AI and Analytics accelerators and proof of concepts, data science and engineering activities of the lab. The specificities for the role can vary depending on interests and immediate need.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience with database design, data modeling, and data warehousing. Understand ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools. Experience in delivering results within stipulated deadlines.

  • Proficiency in data science and data engineering tools and languages such as Python, R, SQL, and Java. Show experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka and data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4.
