Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, dynamic individual to join our Day-care Reception Team at Hammersmith Hospital, Haematology Department. We are seeking an enthusiastic and bright individual who enjoys patient contact and working in a busy, friendly multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in the delivery of a high-quality day-care service.
You will act as the first point of contact for patient and visitors attending the Haematology Day care unit, providing comprehensive administrative support and customer orientated reception services for the Day care and Ambulatory services within Haematology. The role involves scheduling and facilitating patient attendance to the Haematology Day care unit and assisting with answering enquires from clinical teams within and outside the service.

To provide a comprehensive clerical and administrative service for the Haematology Day Care Unit to help ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery, working in close collaboration with Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and Service management.
To input and maintain up to date information on ICT systems for patients using the Haematology service as required.
Scheduling patient’s treatments and diagnostics procedures being carried out in the Haematology day Care unit in accordance with Trust policy.
Communicating as required with external agencies, staff, multidisciplinary teams, patients and relatives regarding appointments, admissions, meetings and coordinating services to ensure efficiency of service delivery.
Admitting Haematology patients for day care TCI to the bed board on Cerner as well as discharging/ transferring them in real time.
To answer all phone enquiries from patients and clinical teams around upcoming attendances.
