Day Care Nurse Manager (CNM1)

Are you passionate about dementia care? We are seeking to appoint a Day Care Nurse Manager

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Current registration on the General / Psychiatric division of the register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Have 2 years of experience in a senior nursing role
• Current experience in the care of the elderly and people living with dementia
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical standards
• Demonstrate excellent communication (both verbal and written), organisational skills, flexibility and commitment
• A post-graduate diploma in gerontology or dementia is desirable.

EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT:

• Take an active role in teaching in Day Care
• Be aware of current developments in nursing practice and partake and supervise in ongoing post registration education.
• Promote nursing research and endeavor to ensure that nursing care carried out is research based.
• Assist staff to develop professional development plans using performance appraisal techniques.
• Have a professional development plan and review it regularly with the Director of Nursing.

The Daycare CNM1 at Saint Joseph’s Shankill will play a pivotal role in supervising and supporting staff in the delivery of quality evidenced based care and the coordination and management of resources on a daily basis. The main responsibilities will include Professional / Clinical Leadership, Communication, Change Management, Practice Development, Resource Management, Staffing and Staff Development. T
